Capt Craven P. Reed    (18  -  )  Mustered in as 2 Lt of Co D on 5 Sep 61 from Sullivan Co;  Promoted to 1 Lt on 19 May 62;  Promoted to Capt on 11 Feb 63;  He would eventually make Maj on 10 Jun 65  

 

 

1 Lt  Samuel Finley Mason    (1841  -  1909)  Born in Indianapolis, but lived much of his life in Sullivan and Shelby Counties; Mustered in as a Cpl from Sullivan Co on 5 Sep 61;  Promoted to 1 Lt on 11 Feb 63 (Did he skip the rank of 2 Lt or was he the 2 Lt for part of the void from 25 Nov 62 until 1 Apr 63?);  Resigned on 4 Nov 64; Married Matilda Davis in 1868, they had five children; He was a grocer; He died in Sullivan County

 

 

2 Lt Charles A. Power    (1839  -  )    Born in KY, his family came to IN in 1856;  Mustered in on 5 Sep 61 as a Sgt from Sullivan Co;  Promoted to 2 Lt on 1 Apr 63  (The AG records are silent as to who was 2 Lt between 25 Nov 62 when John N. Clark resigned and 1 Apr 63 when Charles A. Power stepped in);  He resigned on 20 Nov 64;  After the War, he lived in Vigo Co and was a "dealer in agricultural implements"

Bailey, Stephen D.   21  (1840 - 1912)  Stephen and his father, Joseph (1818 - 1878), were both mustered in on 20 Sep 61 from their home in Turman's Creek and served beside one another until Joseph was discharged for disability on 2 Dec 62;  Stephen went on to be a Vet and was mustered out on 8 Dec 65 as a Cpl;  Sometimes their last name is spelled Baily
